Kingsday

We celebrated a Merry Kingsday no 1 in Delft!

On April 30st last year Beatrix abidcated the crown and so April 30 2013 was Crowning day and in 2012 it was Queensday as it had been for decades (since her mother accepted the throne & crown in 1948 and April 30th was her birthday).
So Queensday has altered in Kingsday and king Willem-Alexander has his anniversary on April 27th ~ that will be the new national day of celebration for Kingsday, unless it's on a Sunday, then, like now, it is celebrated on the Saturday prior... ah yes!

Well I found my King on the square Markt Delft amidst the orange people ~ he looks so royal:)
