The Stinger!

Couple of weeks ago I was tidying out my shed/workshop when I came up against my first wasp of the season!!!
Sadly she won, I was stung but, I caught her in a jar and released her a distance away.....don't like killing creatures!
Today, back in the shed I found this tiny nest about 1.5 inches across stuck firmly to the shed ceiling.
This is the beginning of a new wasp nest and possibly where this queen spent the winter...glad I found it early!
Pretty amazing structure made mainly from sawdust she found around in the shed.. It broke when I touched it but you can see the hole she used for entry.
Hope she managed to build a new nest well away from here!
