Cliff primroses

I think we went the wrong direction today as we seemed to hit the sea mist and rain on our walk from Dunbar to East Linton along the John Muir Way. Our picnic lunch was in the rain looking out at the sea below the flower strewn cliffs while seabirds swirled around and eiders floated below.
As we walked westwards the sky became lighter and the sun had come out by the time we arrived home so perhaps we should have walked locally. However I probably would not have found 46 different plants in flower, excluding ones that would have originally been garden escapes, nor might I have heard my first willow warbler of the year.
