Tate portrait

I had a day off work so after a bit of shopping I popped into the Tate. There's some art I get and some I always end up thinking I could do that. This is the description that went with this picture...

'Untitled' 1987 - Felix Gonzalez-Torres

By listing names, events and dates, Gonzalez-Torres addresses our individual and communal relationship with history. For each viewer, the words and dates will conjure different personal associations, whether profound or trivial, highlighting how public events are transformed into private experiences. The work is thus dependant on the visitor who completes the work in a unique way.
