Portraits of the Past

We went to the Mid Pennine Arts book launch and celebration event for 'Portraits of the Past' at Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham, and had a lovely afternoon. There was a 'Palace of Curiosities', letterpress workshop, guided walks in the grounds, and a scullery maid called Betsy, who seemed to be enjoying saying very saucy things particularly to the men. When I was taking this photo, I could hear her saying very seriously 'I might be a scrubber, but I has my standards'.
