But it is still April!

Last year I blipped this rose on 9 June, saying that it was always the first rose to come out. Today I discovered this shy bloom peeping over the wall, as if it was wondering whether it really should be here just yet! It is only April, after all.
The rose is Golden Showers, well established when we came here 46 years ago, and still producing beautiful roses over a long season. It will be an even longer season this year!
Sunshine and showers again today, more showers than sunshine and some of them very heavy.
