Bullfinch.
Probably not the best photograph ever - but it is a picture of something I find very special .
These little birds come into the garden from time to time, but they are occasional visitors and they are usually very shy. I guess the snow has made them hungry and therefore a lot more adventurous so, when I opened the shutters this morning, this little guy was just sitting there waiting to be blipped.
I really thought that, by the time I had got my camera and attached the long lens, he would have disappeared. He was still there though, eating goodness only knows what on of some dead nettle stalks that were poking up through the white stuff.
