Day 117: San Juan Pablo II

Today, April 27, 2014, Pope Francis declared his predecessors Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII saints in the first dual canonization ceremony in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. The framed poster shown in this photograph is of then Pope John Paul II (Juan Pablo II) which were sold during his visit to Mexico in 1979. This framed poster was originally my wife's late Uncle Ed. Ed, who was also Polish and almost the same age as Pope John Paul II, would vacation in Mexico every year. In 1979 he went to Mexico during the Pope's visit and retuned with this framed poster which now hangs in our home.
