Choochoo!

This is a blatant cheat but I hope to be forgiven.

Up at 5.45am ON A SATURDAY to drop Bella and Ally at Portreath for the start of their Coast to Coast (C2C) walk. It started to rain as they walked out of the registration building...

Onto Fraddon for pancakes at McDs before an AAT meeting on Payroll, RTI and P11D and bacon butties.

Meanwhile MrRoly did a run to Philleagh on the Roseland to drop Lily and 3 others off at the Beaver C2C Challenge via the King Harry Ferry.

Home for a quick lunch then back out to Philleagh (via the ferry) to collect Lily and the others. No sign of Bella and Ally but many bedraggled groups. Turns out we missed them by about 10 minutes :-(

Chinese takeaway at the request of a somewhat tired Lily - the Beavers walked anywhere between 4 and 7 miles depending on who I asked. But all agreed the thick mud and undulating countryside made it tricky.

As a treat we put on Frozen and had almost reached the end when the scout leader rang - Bella had sore feet, a headache and had been a little bit sick. I played bad cop but to no avail.

So MrRoly (good cop) returned to Philleagh - but the long way this time as we had doubts about the ferry running.

They returned home just before 11. A very very long day.
