The Winter Olympics were held at Nagano in 1998, and Hakuba was used as the venue for the ski jumping and alpine skiing. They don't seem to have got around to taking down the signs yet...

We had a day of moseying around Hakuba today - going to the place where Adam lived, walking down into the town, and back along the river. There are around nine different ski resorts in the town - it's a really big skiing area.
