Cactus Flower Spike

I bought a succulent cactus from an open garden last year. They must surely thrive on neglect. To my surprise it sent out this amazing flower spike It is bigger than the cactus!
The flowers are really intricate and seem to have watery droplets ( ? nectar} at the base of the stamens.
