Great Western
In high vaulted halls,
The watchers gaze inscrutably,
Towards the great west.
..... this was taken at Paddington station... the huge banners made me think of those stylised Soviet propaganda posters. I was sitting at the station, people watching and killing time while my daughter was having an operation at the nearby St Marys Hospital.
After the station, I walked down to Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens and had a look round the Serpentine galleries ... the exhibition in the Sackler wing was collections of thing all arranged and order ... very satisfying to my OCD tendencies ... pictures here.
Then it was back to the hospital to see how things had gone ... it was supposed to be day surgery, but they decided to keep her in overnight. The operation seemed to have gone went OK, but then some complications developed .... visiting time ended at 8pm so we had to leave .... it was hard to leave her not knowing what was happening. ....
