Twisted

The relentless grey lifted slightly this afternoon so to get a break from the paperwork I went out to tidy the garden. The weeds are burgeoning along with the plants.

At one point I looked up from the weeds and saw this twisted - or corkscrew - hazel against the sky. We bought it on the shores of Loch Fyne some years back and it has thrived. Occasionally it throws out a straight branch but generally they twist and turn providing an ornamental focus.
