Stockport milepost from another age

Nice to see this old milepost preserved in Stockport. This is opposite one of the entrances to Stockport College and made me thing today of a quieter age, with slower, less stylish cars. The A6 is one of Britain's wonderful roads that seems to go through most of the places I have lived lately, from Luton to Carlisle.
