Tadpole hunting
Mum and Heidi have made a tadpole tank with tadpoles from a friends pond and also a caddis fly larvae. They boil up lettuce leaves to put in and bits of meat. Heidi was up to her elbows in the tank trying to touch one!
I went to collect India and Heidi from mum and dad's, tanya was cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Pancakes with bacon in them and lots of maple syrup, bacon and eggs, tea, coffee, apple champagne, it was the best diner ever.
We spent a lot of time worrying about my brother who lives in Virginia and managed to dislocate his ankle in the last rugby match of the season. His ears must have been burning as he rang and was his usual upbeat self.
India and Heidi did a show for us in the garden, it was so sunny and there was a lot of jazz hands and dramatic jumping off the top of the slide to music from Frozen and Oliver. Dad said that Heidi had slipped down the slide with one leg hanging off earlier in the week and said to herself 'well that's how you break your leg but I didn't break my leg because my bones are strong' and then sauntered off!
Mark finally arrived and Tanya's diner obliged him with a restorative brunch and we went off for a walk with the dogs. All too soon it was 5pm, India went swimming, I went to the gym and Mark made dinner, this is unbelievable as it's usually an annual event and he did it last weekend too!
