Mono Monday - Lines

This is my contribution to today's mono Monday challenge, Lines. This line of padlocks, left presumably by lovers, graces the fence on the East River that flows between Brooklyn and Manhattan, at the spot that marks New York's earliest ferry crossing, the Fulton Ferry which began in 1640. I've seen this phenomenon elsewhere in the world, in fact in one notable setting the authorities remove the padlocks regularly as their collective weight was damaging the ancient bridge to which they had been attached. My challenge to you - do any of you fellow travellers know where that is? Happy Monday!
