Wanderings & Witterings

Because my 'big' birthday happened just at the start of the Easter Weekend, I had postponed the main celebrations until things were a little quieter and some of the logistics would be easier to arrange. And so it was that on Saturday 26th April about 50 of my family and friends joined me for a sail on Loch Lomond.

It is fair to say that a great time was had by all. The weather was remarkably kind (especially given the dire forecast), the buffet was excellent and the bar was well-stocked. One of my friends had arranged a cake, one of my family had made a 'clootie dumpling' - a family birthday tradition for many years - another of my family members managed to embarrass me with posters placed strategically around the boat, while one of my friends had had t-shirts made for the occasion and these were worn by several of my closest (or at least they were!) friends.

When we disembarked, some of the guests headed straight for the bus hired to take us home and missed the group photo-shoot, but I think we managed to capture most of them. I hope Blipfoto doesn't mind that I didn't take this photo myself (no-one needs to know!), although it was taken with my camera and I do make an appearance in front of the lens.

A fun day.
