Traveling

A long day of waiting for visitors to arrive but not as long as their day stuck in Edinburgh airport for 10 hours, waiting to leave.

In between we managed to fit in a traffic jam in a supermarket car park and a trip to the cinema.

There is something faintly ironic about the fact that they have never come at xmas before as they were worried about the weather being really bad this far north in the winter. 'Why don't you fly' we say, 'that way you don't have to worry about boats and delays due to storms.' What happens? The airport in the south is blocked by blizzards whilst at the Orkney end we bask in sunshine.

Still, they got here. That's what matters.


BTW - Have to confess to not taking this pic. Ru took it for me out of the car window whilst i was driving. (I did tell him where to point the camera though, hope that counts?) Have a look at it big - for a drive by in low light, I'm amazed at the detail it's held.
