me and mo or jo and scarlett went to althorpe house today. scarlett had not been before.
the house where princess diana is buried ... supposedly... 15 pounds it costs to see the house the special exhibition and the lake well i suppose earl spencer has 4 children to educate...
it's a beautiful place i was lucky enough to go round it when the old earl was in charge and 'acid raine' was responsible for the most hideous decor you can imagine earl spencer has made delightful improvements.
above is a picture of one of the many coach loads of tourists that come from all over the world because of the 'diana' magic. the man is looking towards the island on the lake where it is claimed princess diana is buried
locals say that diana is buried in gt brington church in the family vaults. i took scarlett to see the lines in the floor where you can see the stones have been removed and replaced.
we asked the church warden about this rumour she flushed bright red and said absolute nonsense and that she would know... seem quite offended when i said you'd have to say that she just reiterated she would know...
she then told us of a chap who comes to the church twice a year and brings roses and sits and talks to diana for 2 hours ... mmm yes.. and other people who are visibly upset 10 years after the sad event...
now i knew a girl that worked a season at althorpe 2 years ago. she worked in the shop along side earl spencer some days and she was aghast at the huge numbers still coming in grabbing the earl's hand and crying over his loss...apparrently he was very magnanimous to them.
