There couldn't be anything less simple and less complicated than a beach made from a million different pebbles and shells and other life and once-life forms, and a sea full of life and mystery and action. But from a distance it looks pure and plain and simple and peaceful

Very satisfying when you've been shifting paper and paying bills all day.

My eyes have been straining outside, following the baby robins, and I've washed 3 loads of washing as an excuse to pop outside and listen to the springsong of the blackbird and check on the world.

Inside is no world at all. It's just pretend/ at best a shelter.
