Moorhen and chick

I went for a walk in Himley Park anticipating a water shot with reflections. What I found instead was a series of Moorhen nests just away from the lake's edge. This one had three chicks in it and I took a series of shots while the mum or dad moorhen raised itself to let them out briefly. I didn't realise just how vividly coloured the chicks are.
