Fiery Reds

Autumn has finally found my little maple in the gazania patch, turning the small fingered-like leaves to fiery reds as they gleam in the rain.

The weather has been dismal, persistent rain with a fierce wind, temperatures hovering round 6C, it was a day for hugging the fire and eating all things warm.
There is much flooding round the district, Christchurch is particularly bad and with all the wet weather there has been an invasion of mice coming indoors, much to Daughter E's horror.

Traps have been set and some have been caught but its not very pleasant being woken during the night to a squeal of a mouse in the trap in your bedroom but its only got its leg caught and its running around with a trap on its back - sounds ghastly! Poor girl is having to learn the tough way of handling mice.

Mum and I ventured out to grocery shop but no photos were taken, it was just way too miserable, we were keen to get home again. A very quick dash out to my garden in my slippers, crazy lady says hubby, to get the fiery reds of my maple which will probably start to fall within a blink of any eye.

Hope your all enjoying a warm start to the week, whether its in the sun or by the fire - keep well blippers :)

Edit: Daughter E has left home and is living in Christchurch, it is her house being invaded by mice not ours - apologies for not making myself clear.
