Lowther Castle, Cumbria

Lowther Castle and Gardens is a different kind of day out. The castle and gardens are undergoing restoration. There are 30 acres of gardens recovering from neglect.
There are herons, red squirrels and bats. We did see a heron and there was a heron
nest at the top of a tree. When the heron landed on the tree it shook! Lowther has much to offer and will keep on improving.
