Blue Sky!
After two days of low, grey clouds and heavy rain this was a welcome sight, but you had to be out in the middle of the Canterbury Plains to see it. These two days were the sort to be staying at home and keeping warm. However I have been out in it.
At the weekend my son ricked his back. That’s never happened to him before. He did it while he was straightening one of my woodsheds that has never been the same since the first big earthquake. Each year it has leaned further and was likely to go all the way.
Although he could drive he feared he might have to stop in the middle of nowhere so I went with him through torrential rain to the doctor’s surgery yesterday, and then again late in the day to the physiotherapist. Today he had an appointment in Christchurch. There was heavy rain all the way, with sheets of water on the road. As we returned the rain eased off and we saw this bit of blue sky down south. Back home it was low cloud as usual. I hope the blue sky spreads our way.
