Fishing under ice

Here you see signs of winter fishing. There is a net under the ice between these two signs. The net has been put from the first hole.
Then a stick bound to a rope is pushed under the ice. The stick is a special one so that when it is pulled it moves forward. After thirty meters another hole is sawed and the net is set down.
We are now so north in Finnish Lapland, 67 degrees, 38' that the sun does not rise at all and there was about -20 Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit). This photo has been taken a bit before the noon.
