moving on to Ryglice

New village, new cousin found today. We just met Mom's 2nd cousin on the Sarad side of the family: Tadeurz Besciak is 86 years young and probably never expected a knock on the door from American cousins today.

Armed only with a family tree that ends a couple generations ago, our guide Zenon charmed the local records office into working with him to determine which relatives are still in the area. This one came together very quickly: within 20 minutes we had the name and address of Tadeurz, and as luck would have it he lives on the street adjacent to the records office itself. We knocked on his door, let Zenon explain the purpose of our visit, and Tadeurz invited us into his home.

After some discussion, his daughter told us about another relative in town who is 96 years old and still remembers stories about my great grandmother who immigrated from the village. Jackpot! We hope to visit the older cousin tomorrow.
