A menage-a-trois in the world of swans

There was a tremendous uproar in teh lake early on Sunday morning. It appeared that the male swan of our happy couple had got a rival. It was swimming on the lake in quite a nonchalant manner, but the couple felt that their peace was threatened.

They kept on hooting, got on their wings and descended again very restlessly. In this picture it can be clearly seen how awkward the takeoff of a swan is.
