Doha Days

We have to have a prayer room in our school here. Today our fire alarm went off due to a fault being repaired in school hours. The boys praying were the last out of the building due to an audibility issue in the prayer room. Signs like this one are fixed to ceilings of public buildings and hotel rooms here to enable everyone to be in no doubt about which direction Mecca can be found from here. In the Gloucestershire school of which I was Head we did not have a prayer room but a prayer palace, or Chapel, capable of seating 600!
