Stockade Hill

A stockade was built here in the late 1800's to protect the Howick locals from Maori on the warpath in the days of the NZ land wars. It is now the location of a war memorial and Anzac Day services are held here. I pass by quite frequently on my way to the beach for a swim and a run around !
