Sometimes I hate rowing!

Not me - but that's what young Will told me after he'd rowed 8km and then I'd taken him through 10-stroke, then a 20 stroke, and finally a 30-stroke start. His starts were great though and should serve him well at Evesham this weekend.

Now Tom is back in a boat I am back on the towpath five times a week, which is helping with my fitness and shifting the extra kilos. On an evening like this it is the best place to be, but just an hour earlier it was torrential rain, which is a whole different kettle of fish…..

Tom is doing well building up to racing again, but very impatient. Mark wants him to go easy, but did dangle the carrot, that he may well be fit enough to do seat racing for the boys four which aims to qualify for Henley. The big goal, though, is Nat Champs in July.
