On Reflection.....

.....there have been some unexpected pleasures in having to take a different route to work during the tube strikes.

This is an Antony Gormley installation at No. 350 Euston Road, which I walked past this morning. I've never seen it before. It's called "Reflection", and at first glance the cast iron figure outside the building does seem to be reflected in the glass window. On closer inspection it's actually two figures, and the one on the inside is rusted and patinated.

What makes me smile about it is that the chap on the outside has a rather polished posterior. I wonder how many hands have been on that bottom since Gormley installed it in 2001?
