Up in the eves
A decent day.
I drove to our Cambridge office first off and had another good business development meeting with colleagues and learned a lot from our head of marketing, as usual. It's a completely different job and skill set to mine and yet we need to understand how best to develop our business so her input is invaluable. She's fascinating to listen to.
I got caught up with more emails than I'd intended up in an office tucked away in the eves (view blipped) and didn't get back on the road until after 2.30pm which meant I was a bit late for my meeting with HR. That went well and I now have a better idea as to how to approach my assistant with her training needs. Our head of HR has great people skills and I got loads of good tips from her...
In order to support and develop my colleague better, I was asked to take my day off as two half days rather then one whole day, at least temporarily, and I have agreed to this. I just need to work out which days. One will be a Wednesday (so my head shrink session does not get taken in work time) and the other probably a Tuesday, as usual.
I then had a brief chat with another colleague and set his mind at rest that he won't need to work closely with another member of staff and he seems happier now. Wonder how long that will last!
It'll be roast chicken for dinner, Masterchef and some more playing with the Sony programme for the camera...
