Jamaica Inn
The recent BBC adaptation of Jamaica Inn used a number of locations (Ireland and Huddersfield being two) and my brothers patch - Kirkby Lonsdale. He was approached by the Beeb last year, as they had earmarked the rectory and his church as locations (he being the rector). The churchyard was left to grow wild (as per instructions, and to much local grumbling), and the town and rectory were completely transformed during the week of filming. My sister-in-law took pictures of rehearsals from the attic, but had to retreat to the back rooms when they were doing actual takes on the frontage. Her kitchen was piled high with 300 authentic bread loaves at one point!
But apparently Bryher (my brother's German Shepherdess) couldn't be silenced, and barked loudly whenever they tried to film a sequence of someone coming to the rectory front door. This was edited out!!!
