Commuting on Foot

The now regular start of day pattern saw Annie heading off 100 miles for Bristol whilst I (Chris) took on the challenge of getting to the office in London. Knowing the likely unpredictability of the London Underground services due to the industrial action, I went earlier than usual (6.07am train). Arriving in Marylebone it was clear that a degree of patience would be required or burning a fair amount of shoe leather!

I compromised and after some wait, eventually caught the Bakerloo line down to Charing Cross before walking from there to London Bridge. It was a really bright but foggy morning and there were many other commuters taking some stress out of their journey by going on foot. I never walk this route at the start of the day so I've no idea how busy it usually is at 7.20am but it was buzzing this morning. I grabbed a few shots trying to catch both the light and a bit of the scene.

Thankfully the journey home was much more straightforward, busy trains but they were all running. Same again next week to look forward to.....
