Graffiti Free Zone

After yorkhull's blip yesterday and Brendie's blip last Saturday, I decided to show off some of the street art in my own little town.

The subway was recently cleaned up and tidied and the town council decided it would be good to invite primary school children to paint a mural on the walls. This was done and much admired so I took my camera down to the subway this afternoon to get the picture.

Where's the artwork gone?! It's been painted over but not quite obliterated; the whitewash isn't quite adequate to cover the vibrant colours underneath.

But why? I think we should be told.
