Trafficlighticide
Between 2008 and 2012 there were 195 deaths in the UK of pedestrians, caused by motor vehicles, on the pavement. It's interesting because cycling on the pavement is seen as so dangerous. Granted I don't do it (unless its shared use), and I've no sympathy for anyone caught doing it. But here's the thing, cyclists are lambasted for always cycling on the pavement, and in so doing being reckless and dangerous, yet in the same period cyclists killed two people. Two too many. But 193 fewer than motorists who... Well people never drive along the pavement. The psychology of it all interests me (as well as a desire to see that figure simply reduced to zero).
Six day weekend starts here...
