Down to the last stone!

It has been a great World Senior Curling Championships at Dumfries, despite the Scottish men's team being defeated by Canada in the quarter finals and the Scottish mixed doubles being beaten by Hungary. Today was the final of the Senior men's and women's teams and the mixed doubles. Switzerland beat Sweden 8-6 in the mixed doubles.
Canada's men's team beat Sweden 7-2 to take the gold medal, while Canada's women's team played Scotland at the same time. The blip is the discussion between the Canaian skip and her third, before throwing the last stone of the match. The Canadians had led the game from the start and at this point were leading Scotland 5-4. Christine Cannon(Scotland) had thrown two great red stones and all Colleen Pinkney needed to do to win was draw in to the centre or tap her yellow stone up and take out the red - something she had done often in the game. I'm ashamed to say I crossed my fingers - and it worked, she missed and Scotland won the game and the gold medal 6-5.
