Green thought in a green shade ...
I couldn't have told you where the title of this blip originated - it slid unbidden into my mind with all the slickness of a cliché - but I've got it now. It comes from a poem by Andrew Marvell, The Garden, and having read it I have to say it's pretty close to my mark today.
After yesterday's sun, the return to rain and cloud today was doubly depressing, and it was well after 4pm when we finally forced ourselves to go out to walk. And of course it was beautiful once we were away from the houses and the streets; the greenery was greener than ever and this particular bit of wood with its mossy floor and spreading trees was cheering and soothing and altogether agreeable.
