Illuminated Iris

This iris looks as though there is a light shining from beneath, illuminating the center. Its symmetry reminded of a kaleidoscope.

Today was in the 90's, and winds gusting to more than 30 mph (nicknamed devil winds.) The flowers were moving with the wind while I photographed them. It is predicted to be even hotter the next two days. Can't believe we have the air conditioning on in April!
