Now Most People Think of Heaven

Wow. Wow. Wow.

Where to start? First off. Boy did not know Tooli was coming!

We got up and headed back to the airport and picked up the rental, and then began screaming at each other; as is the way when we are driving in foreign lands. I was driving which didn't help - as himself believes himself to be the better driver / navigator combined, and just wanted to shout at me the WHOLE time. Tooli had a break down in the back.

We reached UMO and found a map which was incredibly detailed, but didn't actually point "YOU ARE HERE" on the map. So we noted a few BIG buildings near where Boy would be and headed on a tour round campus. It was amazing how many things we saw that we recognised - it was like coming to somewhere you've visited many times in the past, but for the first time.

We found the building (after a full circuit), and then knocked on the door. Tooli hid in a doorway half way down, and as Boy came out and giggled hysterically at us standing on his doorstep, he threw his arms round his dad's neck, and spotted Tooli standing behind, and ACTUALLY SQUEALED.

He also said a massive stream of sweary words too, but that was just evidence as to how excited he was to see his wee sister! He was stunned!

Then, we got in and met all the Boys who have become so familiar to us over the years. I'm delighted to say they were all as gorgeous in the flesh as they look in the photos. He has a great Bunch of pals.

We went for a tour round campus, and met all the ladies Boy has been working with in the PR Department and they all told me how much they loved him. We met Brad who I have driven insane over the past 3 years with emails about finance and insurance and payments, and whatever. He wasn't the tall Athletic Blonde American I was expecting! Wow! But what a charmer!

Then we went to Andy's. Think, Grease, Frenchie deciding whether or not to quit beauty school... That's Andy's. We had burgers and shakes, and then headed back into the heat to walk back to the car.

Boy took us a drive through the neighbourhood he stayed in one Christmas... off campus... alone... nearly came to a sticky end. OMG I could not believe the place I was seeing. I was scared driving along inside a locked car! And he walked there.

In the Evening was the Senior Banquet and Athletic Awards. I got to meet the President of the University, who loves Boy, the Vice President of Education something or other.., who loves Boy, his coach, (who I think loves him, although he didn't actually say so). I met a mum and dad who have looked after Boy's stuff when he comes home, and I thanked them so much, and they said it was easy, because they loved him!! Aw. Everyone loves my Boy.

At the Banquet, the seniors all were awarded their "Senior Blankets". Sounds strange eh? But yeah, personalised blankets in UMO colours, very nice it was too. Then, the Athletic awards.... We sat with the VB team, right up the front, and clapped politely as everyone got their awards, and squealed when it was the VB squads turn, and even more hysterically when Boy got MOST VALUABLE PLAYER!!!!!!!!!! I nearly burst into tears! I was soooo excited.

Then he got an award for being one of the "Final 15" the Top 15 Sports Men of the Year at UMO. S, his Gal, got the Award for the Best Recovery... S, had an operation in January, which put her out of action from then until August - and then sprained her ankle a week into training. But now she is back and knocking holes in the floor with her kills! Then they won a Joint Award... "Cutest Couple". Boy looks suitably mortified, while S was delighted! (But secretly I know Boy was delighted too)

Then there were photos, and cup cakes, and amidst the thunder and the lightning, we left them to their studying, and final homeworks as we headed back to the hotel.
