Breakfast date

Breakfast at the newly opened cafe, just around the corner from us, was a treat for working nights. Tom had herby scrambled eggs with bacon and sourdough bread (sounds posh, doesn't it?), I had waffles with cream, fruit compote and blueberries. Both were yummy!

The night shift was great! We enjoyed a good few hours in the early morning where we had no patients waiting to be seen. These hours became bonding time with the nursing staff. We talked and talked and talked. They wanted all of the details about how hubby and I met, got engaged and married and I found out all about them. The other two doctors on the shift were male and kept well away from all the girly talk. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it though.
