Calm and quiet...........
As much as last night's sunset was a blaze of colour tonight's was the exact opposite as the sun slipped quietly and unceremoniously below the horizon. It is a lovely afternoon interlude to steal an hour from a busy day and concentrate on photography.
I was a little bored with the jetty this afternoon and there were kids on bikes riding along, families with small children in strollers- all enjoying the sunset. (read that as wandering in and out of my frame :)
This little appendage caught my attention and although it is quite lovely in itself it is usually overlooked being such a small and insignificant offshoot of such a long and picturesque jetty.
I chose to frame it so as to exclude the horizon and I used a slow shutter to smooth out the lake. I played around with this shot- converting it to B and W -but in the end I enjoyed the subtle colour shift towards the blue green on the left away from the setting sun and so decided to go with this shot for Blip.
I also like the golden light falling on the weathered jetty boards.
