ELUSIVE .......

.... for ever I have "dreamt" of getting to just see a Bell Bird (Bell Miner), and today was my lucky day!!!

Just love their distinctive call, which you hear in south eastern Australia in most eucalypt areas (which is a lot of area).

BUT, have never seen one in "live time"...

Walking on a wonderful sunny arvo today down by the Nepean river, sighted the wonderful female fairywren flitting around, and listening to the bell bird calls. However, today noticed what at first sight was a small female bower bird, but after getting the shot before it took off I realised it was something else!!!

To my delight - finally have a bell bird shot in the can.... whacko.
