Hans Christian Andersen

No visit to Denmark would be complete without acknowledging their most famous author, and in particular creator of fairy stories including Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, The Princes and the Pea, and the Emperor's New Clothes. HC Andersen didn't have the happiest of lives, he never married and had a fear of being buried alive. Three years before he died he fell out of bed and never recovered.
There is a plaque commemorating the fact that he lived in Nyhavn but this statue is to be found on HC Andersen's Boulevard - where else!
We've had a super break in Copenhagen and it's certainly to be recommended. I'd love to come back here but the list of places still to discover gets longer! So where will it be next?
