Mighty little mower

This ageing mower has featured in my blips before but really deserves to be in today's diary. One of our fields has become invaded by a type of reed, both unsightly and ultimately damaging. So a selective weed killer was applied and the reeds then had to be chopped down 4 weeks after application. Having gone through several metres of strimmer string in seconds on the tough shoots I fired up the trusty mower and proceeded to mow the field. 3.5 hours later there was not a reed to be seen. Have to say I was in a worse state than the mower!
