A proper grown up

Now I feel a Proper Grown Up, able to wear contact lenses.

Getting to this stage has taken weeks of tests, teach-ins and opticians visits but at long last today I have been able to bring my new contact lenses home.

This might seem a simple task to most of you but I have never worn contact lenses before in my life and my eye prescription is a complicated one mainly thanks to a PVD (partial vitreous detachment ) a couple of years ago.

Am not out of the woods yet with my contact lenses and there will be many more opticians appointments to come but at least I've made a start.

Now comes the task of training my brain to see in mono vision - and that is strange.
