Apple blossom in Churchfield Road

Didn't manage to blip this on the right day, being so busy an' all ... spotted this striking blossom in a front garden on the way to work, or rather to get a few bits and bobs for playtime, as we were expecting the OFSTED inspector! He was there, and wasn't inspecting the play provision, but of course we all wanted to showcase what we do well. I'd already passed the "Suitable person check" two years ago, following an in-depth interview by an OFSTED inspector at my house(!) but shortly afterwards OFSTED abolished the concept of suitable people! (Suitable to run an after-school club or play provision, in case you're wondering what on earth I'm 'suitable' for)!

Steve couldn't go on the Asian Street Food course he was booked on to in the evening, as he had the lurgy that I'd had. The tutor, Erin, suggested that I take his place. Wow, what a night! We watched demos of, or cooked, six vegetarian dishes:

Green papaya salad
Japanese gyoza (dumplings) with dipping sauce
Vietnamese Summer rolls with dipping sauce
Aubergine kebabs with satay sauce
Egg Fried rice
Pad Thai

I'd thought it would be really fiddly, but it was surprisingly easy. Most of the ingredients were familiar as I like Asian food, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Afterwards, we all sat down and ate the feast we'd prepared, and there was enough to take home, too. I'd hoped to get some good food shots, but they're all a bit meh. Maybe I'll make a collage and put it in my blipfolio or Facebook page.
