Goodbye to Turkish Teacher
This was one of the saddest and happiest days through our school year as a class. In the beginning of this semester, we learned that our Turkish teacher was pregnant. We were really happy for her until we learnt that she's going to leave the school by spring break and a new teacher will substitute her. We met Ozlem Hoca and she is really nice to us, but we really loved Serya Hoca. So we wanted to make something special for her. The last day before the spring break, we had class with her fortunately. So we decided that our talented cooks in class can do cookies and some couple of stuff and all of us gave a little money to buy something for her son. Begüm bought a cute infant bodysuit and I framed our first class photo as Lise 9/2 which was taken with our teacher in Sakip Sabanci Museum in Anish Kapoor which was our first trip. Her class was second period and we were looking at what we have for her. Then, Omer came up with the idea of writing a letter to her. We thought half an hour to write five simple sentences and we wrote it right in the middle. Then, everyone wrote small things around. It was ready, too. The class time came and we said let's sit without even smiling and suddenly we'll go and give her the things we prepared. She entered the classroom and said "What happened guys?". I suddenly stood up to give her the letter and the frame and Begüm stood up to give the present. She started to cry as we all did. We had a really fun lesson with talking, dancing and playing games. We'll miss her.
