and the finest scenery ? Scalby Mills used to be a Water
Mill in the 19th century but the wheel and mill race are
long since gone. This public house enjoys a glorious
situation where Scalby Beck, which powered the mill
wheel, meets the sea. High tides frequently allow sea
trout to gain access to the fresh water in the Beck where
the shallow rock pools make them easy prey for for anglers
and herons. A yacht race is in sight below the Castle Headland.
