Wow

We were summoned to school today, and all we knew was that No 1 son had won an award and it was all "a bit hush hush"....

We sat in the assembly hall, unbeknown to him, in anticipation! The children filed in at 8.55am - all 45 of them (the whole school population!!!) and he must have guessed that 'summat was up' when he saw us there! Anyway, proud to say the he was awarded a 'gold award' for outstanding effort in maths!!! Significant because, having always been very strong in maths, he had a wobble last year and lost confidence. He has obviously inherited my "if I can't do it better than everyone else I'm completely rubbish" gene, and has found maths traumatic for the last year. He has a new found confidence and I'm very proud!!!!
